Switchable Charge Injection Barrier in an Organic Supramolecular Semiconductor.
We disclose a supramolecular material that combines semiconducting and dipolar functionalities. The material consists of a discotic semiconducting carbonyl-bridged triarylamine core, which is surrounded by three dipolar amide groups. In thin films, the material self-organizes in a hexagonal columnar fashion through π-stacking of the molecular core and hydrogen bonding between the amide groups. ...
متن کاملOn Practical Charge Injection at the Metal/Organic Semiconductor Interface
We have revealed practical charge injection at metal and organic semiconductor interface in organic field effect transistor configurations. We have developed a facile interface structure that consisted of double-layer electrodes in order to investigate the efficiency through contact metal dependence. The metal interlayer with few nanometers thickness between electrode and organic semiconductor ...
متن کاملSwitchable supramolecular assemblies on graphene.
We studied the self-assembly of trimesic acid on single- and few-layer graphene supported by SiO2 substrates. A scanning tunneling microscope operated under ambient conditions was utilized to image supramolecular networks of trimesic acid at liquid-graphene interfaces. Trimesic acid can self-assemble into large-scale, highly ordered adlayers on graphene surfaces. Phase transition of the trimesi...

متن کاملUltrafast long-range charge separation in organic semiconductor photovoltaic diodes.
Understanding the charge-separation mechanism in organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs) could facilitate optimization of their overall efficiency. Here we report the time dependence of the separation of photogenerated electron hole pairs across the donor-acceptor heterojunction in OPV model systems. By tracking the modulation of the optical absorption due to the electric field generated between the ...
